A General Guide to Washing Machines
Choosing the right washing machine for the homes specific needs can be daunting as stores usually have a large variety of types and brands. Some classify the machines by their different types of loading methods, while others make the distinction between those used at home and the larger ones used in industries.
There are three different types of washing machines that are generally used for the home. They are the regular top loader, the high efficiency top loader (which do not have centre post agitators) and the front loader washer. Each type has its own shortcomings and benefits.
The regular top loading washing machines are traditional. Their tubs are filled with the dirty clothes and clean water. An agitator whirls the washing in a similar manner to earlier models of the washing machine. The benefit of the regular top loader is that they are generally less expensive. It is simpler to load and also easier to add items in the middle of a cycle than with machines that do not have an agitator. But unfortunately, its performance isnt so striking, while they tend to use the most energy and the most water. Their loads can only hold between 6 and 8 kilograms of laundry, which can become unbalanced during its relatively noisy cycles.
The top loaders that are higher in efficiency use various ways to tumble the washing. They only partly fill up, using less water, while they spin at higher speeds. In general, they wash better and can hold more laundry than the regular top loaders. Their high speed ability gets rid of more water from the washing, but it can also cause the clothes to tangle and wrinkle. Although the prices on these machines have reduced, they are still markedly more expensive than the regular top loaders, and can sometimes cost about the same as a front loading machine.
Front loading washing machines also only partially fill with water, making them more economical. They lift the laundry to the top of the tub, and then drop it back into water. Low foaming detergent works the best with these washers. The best of these clean even better than the high efficiency top loaders, without costing too much more. They can take between 6 and 10 kilogram loads. They spin even faster, but tend to be much quieter, although the vibrating can cause disturbance. Another benefit is that another machine can be stacked on top of it to save space. While each home has a unique set of circumstances, different washing machines will be available to choose from. Whatever the case may be, choose the one that suits best to the need and environment it will work in.
